Join St. Francis Church in Supporting the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter
For many years, members of St. Francis have provided meals for the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, which serves approximately 30 guests on a full-time basis. As a meal provider, you prepare a meal in your home and deliver it to the shelter. St. Francis is responsible for delivering meals on the 1st Sunday of each month by 5:00 PM. There are two ways to participate:
Group Model: A group of friends shares the menu and divides who will bring each item. One or two members deliver the meal to the shelter.
Family Model: One family prepares and delivers the entire meal.
New members are always invited to join this effort! You can form your own team and sign up for one month OR reach out and be added to an existing team!
Each team is responsible for planning their menu and delivering the meal to the shelter. At the beginning of each year, a schedule is emailed to the teams of who is scheduled for which month(s).
Commitment:
Create or join a team (one person will be the contact for your team).
Plan accordingly for the 1st Sunday of the month your team is assigned.
Choose your menu and decide who will cook what and how you will deliver the meal.
Meal delivery is requested at 5:00 PM.
Disposable containers are recommended.
Your participation brings a much-needed blessing of a hot meal to those in need.
