Taking a child he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it he said to them, "Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me."
(MK 9: 36-37)
Elementary Faith Formation aims to enhance the child’s learning by introducing them to Catholic prayer and worship. Early years help build the foundation that will allow the children to embrace and grow in the love of God as they journey toward receiving the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation after two years in the program. We encourage families to attend Mass with their children, allowing them to see familial participation in the Sacraments.
During the later elementary grades, your child will be taught how to build upon their Catholic faith, and you, as the parent/guardian, are a partner in this process. Your child will learn how we worship and how we can live our beliefs in everyday life. We will build upon prayer and emphasize the Ten Commandments, Sacraments, Liturgy, and Morality. Each lesson will build upon the previous year’s lesson with classroom and home components. We hope to encourage the parents to aid in this process by discussing the lessons as a family, praying as a family at home, and attending Mass and Faith Formation classes.
