The Sacrament of Confirmation is a sacrament of initiation.
It completes the Sacrament of Baptism.
While Confirmation is a distinct and complete sacrament in its own right, its purpose is to perfect in us that which was begun in Baptism. In a sense, we might say that we are baptized to be confirmed.

Getting confirmed as a teen
Confirmation is normally celebrated during 10th grade in the Archdiocese of Atlanta
- 2 years of consecutive Faith Formation (first eligible year is 9th graded)
- Has celebrated First Holy Communion
- Yearly Confirmation Retreat
- Enrichment activities

Getting confirmed as an adult
Adults over 18 who desire to receive the sacrament of Confirmation are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA.)
